Gourmet autumn at the Acanto restaurant

Lfall is ready to go live and l’Acanto, the restaurant of the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milanis ready to celebrate it with two special taste appointments that will complete the already intriguing gastronomic and oenological proposal signed by Chef Alessandro Buffolino. In addition to the Acanto, the emblematic Milanese hotel can count on Principe Bar It’s certain Lobby Lounge.

The first autumn meeting is fixed for October 12when the Acanto will host the Magnum Italia gourmet evening in collaboration with Wine Trip. For the occasion, Chef Buffolino has created an ad hoc menu that combines his best proposals with the best Italian labels. An example? Irish rump of lamb with herbs, mustard, potatoes and juice served with a Barolo Cerretta Giovanni Rosso 2016but also the Escalope of duck foie gras fried in Wagyu with black truffles accompanied by a Etna Rosso Feudo Girolamo Russo 2016. The cost is 200 euros, including wines.

The second appointment is rather scheduled for November 16with gourmet dinner in partnership with Tenuta Sette Ponti. This time, Buffolino decided to open with a salmon tartare with guacamole, valerian and oriental sauce, followed by Ravioli ‘del Plin’ with Pecorino with white truffle-flavoured lamb ragout and Rossini-style veal tenderloin. Accompany, in the order of exit, Bianco di Orma 2020, Passi di Orma 2016 and Orma 2016. The cost is 135 euros, including wines.

The Sunday Brunch is back to the rhythm of swing

Then there is a welcome return, that of Sunday Brunchalways at Acanthus. Every Sunday, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. rich buffets of the most authentic Italian flavors and live swing music welcome guests in an atmosphere of conviviality and lightness. Accompanied by a glass of champagne, the menu prepared by Chef Buffolino offers light but delicious specialties that are constantly changing. There are five themed islands (snacks, the vegetarian corner, our bakery, fish and local products) with a selection of dishes based on seasonal products. They complete the proposal sweets from pastry chef Beniamino Passannante. The cost is 95 euros per person, with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Brut Ponsardin champagne included.

Tea at the Lobby Lounge

Not just brunch. At the Principe di Savoia, the food and wine offer is more varied than ever and also includes afternoon tea. From October 3 in fact, the Luxury Chocolate Afternoon Tea has restarted in the Salotto Lobby Lounge of the hotel. The service, available from 15 to 19includes a selection of the best flavors of La Via del tea loose leaf tea, scones (chocolate and traditional with chocolate chips), a slice of chocolate sacher cake, cookies and chocolate chip cookies , a selection of finger sandwiches including: smoked salmon, Philadelphia cheese and chives, Bresaola, lettuce and mayonnaise, Tomato, zucchini and basil pancake, Prince’s chocolate spreads and Marsala Targa Florio to mix with tea.

To end the journey of taste with the Prince of Savoy there is the bar of princes which, with the arrival of autumn, offers a new card with many delicacies. Alongside more traditional dishes, many innovations are offered by the chefs, including a selection of tasty tapas, such as pumpkin flower tempura stuffed with mozzarella, and raw vegetables including Fine de Claire oysters or the tasting trilogy of “Calvisius” caviar.

In November it will then be the time to Gin del Principe Bar-Italian Dry Gin by Hotel Principe di Savoia. A tailor-made gin in all its aspects: recipe, bottle, label. A recipe of ingredients selected by Bar Manager Daniele Confalonieri and produced by the Cillario & Marazzi distillery. Organic Italian soft wheat gin, distilled with dry steam infusion, using the best native botanicals. Hand-picked mulberry berries in early summer and specially produced linden honey from beehives in the grounds around the distillery.
