One hundred years and not hearing them: celebration for the historic brand Moretti

VShundred years, four generations and a business goal: bringing its tradition and quality to the world. So the Moretti Group celebrates the milestone of one hundred years of activity by announcing on the occasion that its own Mark officially entered in the special register of historic brands of national interest, a recognition desired by the Ministry of Economic Development with the aim of protecting the industrial property of Made in Italy excellence.

The historical recipe

As the President explains Battista Moretti“There have been many difficult times and even more changes in this century, both in the world and in our Group, but we have never stopped or given up: we, of the family, have continued to commit to the growth and development of our business”.

The Group’s activity begins with founder Aristide who, with the precious contribution of his wife Carolina, produce flours and specialize in the sought-after flour for polenta “Whose recipe is still known throughout the world and known under the Moretti brand – says Aristide Moretti, Honorary President of the Moretti Group, as well as grandson of the ancestor – The following generations also specialized first in the animal feed sector and then in the sector of laying hens, until the acquisition of farms and the closure of the supply chain with Cascina Italia”.

The good life

From generation to generation

The Moretti Group undertakes to transmit the family tradition and, at the same time, to constitute a solid activity directed towards the productive and technological development.

Today, the Group is led by fourth generation of the family and consists of four realities: Moretti Spa, which deals with the production of feed for laying hens and food flours for catering and for end consumers; Cascina Italia, a leading 4.0 company in the egg processing sector – distributed in shell by the main retail groups – and egg products for laboratories and companies in the food sector; by Avicola Montorfano, which develops the egg production activity through the management of laying hen farms and by Sofimo Srl, which manages the administrative and financial services of the Group companies.

Cultural project for the anniversary

To celebrate the anniversary, a cultural project has also been created with a celebration pack created in collaboration with the agency Plus & Plus and the maestro Andrea Mastrovito.
“The certainty that guides us is that the solid foundations of many years of knowledge of our sector and our market – affirm the two co-CEOs and general managers, Silvia and Ruggero Moretti – combined with new skills and an excellent team of ’employees and collaborators, who live the company not only as a profession but also with passion, will allow us to grow and create development in the coming years by overcoming the challenges that stimulate us so much”.

The Moretti Group is a reality that has reached 85 million euros in turnover aggregated during the last financial year, it has around 100 employees, from 21 different countries, of which around 40% are women, for an induced workforce of around 350 workers. It has 3 million hens spread over 40 farms in northern Italy, processes 600 million eggs and 30,000 tons of maize a year, markets flour all over the world: from Japan to Australia, from New Zealand to the United States and Brazil. .

“Although the world, and in particular Italy, has not yet fully recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic and is suffering the consequences of the climate crisis and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, we have the intention to continue growing following the principles that have always accompanied and guided us: to be an industrial and family business at the same time and to invest in improving and increasing the quality, technology and sustainability of our production and the environment of work – say the general managers, Silvia and Ruggero Moretti – Our grandparents and uncles often tell of the difficult period in which the company began, amid the difficulties and uncertainties of the first post-war period; nothing more topical: today as then we are faced with a delicate challenge where patience and courage are necessary elements to face the present and the future with ambition and confidence”.
